Rules
1. Competitions will be conducted in accordance with the rules of the Royal Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (RSOBHD).
2. The judge’s decision is final.
3. Age groups will be determined according to the number of entries and competitors’ ages as of the day of the competitions, with the exception of the Great Lakes Closed Championship.
4. Dancers must present their 2022 registration card to register and receive awards. No paper or electronic copy of the card will be accepted. Pre-Premier cards will be collected at time of registration and returned after awards are handed out. 
5. Dancers first to enter shall be last to dance.
6. Dancers must be ready and appear when called or forfeit the chance to dance.  
7. Dancers must be in full costume to receive awards.
8. Awards are given at the judge’s discretion.
9. Alma Highland Festival reserves the right to make changes to the event or schedule so long as the change falls within the scope of RSOBHD Rules.

Additional Event Information
If a person is feeling ill, he/she should not attend a SDUSA event.

1. Socially distanced, designated spaces will be available for dancers/family member.
2. Dancers, volunteers, and spectators at SDUSA competitions must comply with state and local guidelines for mask wearing. It is the parents’ responsibility to ensure that their unvaccinated children are protected by wearing a mask and practicing social distancing, especially if the child is under 5 years of age. 
3. All dancers may wear a mask when entering the competition stage. Dancers may remove their mask and place it in a paper bag at the back of the competition stage or opt to compete while wearing a mask.
4. If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask, especially if you are not vaccinated, please do so even if state and local guidelines do not require it.
5. Extra masks will be made available by the organizer. Please have a mask available to use for crowded indoor areas. 
6. Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the venue.
7. A paper bag will be provided by the organizer upon arrival for holding the dancer’s mask while on the platform, if needed.
8. SDUSA Covid Waiver will need to be signed upon arrival.
9. On the day(s) of the event(s), only one dancer may register/check-in at a time. All attendees must practice social distancing while waiting in line in accordance with state and local guidelines.
10. The stage will not be available for warm-up. Dancer warm-up can occur in either the designated family space or a socially distanced area outside the event perimeter.
11. All dancers must provide their own water and snacks.
12. Awards may be placed in a bag with the dancer’s name and available for pickup at the awards table along with dancers’ Pre-Premier cards.
13. Trophy winners may be awarded on stage.

Entries for the Great Lakes Closed Championship/Midwest Regional will be accepted through April 29.
Entries for all other events will be accepted through May 15.
No late entries will be accepted.
